JATC CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM

FOR NEW YORK STATE MECHANIC LICENSING

(a New York State Department of Laborapproved Elevator Training Course Provider)

​All New York State licensed mechanics

must complete 8 hours of continuing education each year 

for Elevator Mechanic License renewal to be granted. 

You must wait 366 days until you can attend 2nd eight hour class.

Members are responsible to ensure their own compliance.


The JATC is offering the required courses to meet the renewal requirements for NYS licensing. Eligible participants must...

  • Be in good standing with Local Union #3, EE Division. (No Retirees) You must submit your official Jun 2025 Local #3 Union Card or a valid yellow receipt.
  • Have avalidNYS Mechanic License.

​​Option 1.

An eight (8) hour classes to be held on a Saturday. 

All three required courses will be covered during one Saturday Session.

2025 Winter-Spring Class Dates are: 

  • Saturday, February 1, 2025​ : Class cancelled.
  • Saturday, March 1, 2025: Class completed.
  • Saturday, March 29th. Class completed.
  • Please use the enroll button if you are interested in attending CE Classes
  • Class dates will be determined by member participation. Members will be notified when classes are scheduled.

​Three Course to be held over two (2) evenings. Participants must attend both nights to receive credit for courses.

Available 2024 Class Date is: (Only 2 night offering for 2024)

  • Wednesday, November 13th & Monday, November 18th - No Longer available.


**Class Information**​

  • Saturday Classes are held at the Local Union #3, 158-11 Harry Var Arsdale Jr., Avenue, Flushing, NY 11365. Class is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. There will be a 30 minute lunch break. Any member arriving past 7:15am will not be admitted.
  • Mid-Week Classes are held at Queens Technical HS, 37-02 47th Ave., LIC, NY 11101
  • Class is from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Any member arriving past 5:15pm will not be admitted.  
  • No member may have early dismissal. 
  • Adherence to class times will be strictly followed.
  • All attendees will be issued a "Certificate of Completion" via email and US Mail..
